Collierville, Tennessee
Ritchie Smith Associates provided master planning and landscape design services for the new campus of a regionally prominent, co-educational middle and high school. The 128-acre site adjacent to the Wolf River offers unique opportunities with bottomland hardwood forest, open meadow and wetland habitats. The master plan incorporated these features to enhance the students' daily experience and support the school's environmental education program. Program elements included academic and athletic buildings, a chapel, outdoor gathering areas, and sports fields. A boardwalk and trails were designed to allow access to landscape features, including the river, a lake, and the old-growth forest.
