Ritchie Smith Associates (RSA) led a multidisciplinary team to prepare a long-range master plan for a system encompassing approximately 5,000 acres, 183 properties, 26 community centers, and a variety of other park and recreation facilities. Work included evaluation of conditions at existing facilities and analysis of facility distribution, as well as demographic and recreation trends. RSA conducted public meetings, city council interviews, and work sessions with community groups, park commission board and staff. Analysis and input were synthesized to develop goals and objectives, and guidelines for improvements to meet park and recreation needs of the community for 22 years.
