Mississippi Riverbluff Walkway

Memphis, Tennessee

The Riverbluff Walkway follows the crest of the Chickasaw Bluff in downtown Memphis. Enjoyed by residents and visitors, the route affords views of the Mississippi River, sunsets, and Arkansas' rural landscape on the river's west bank. Ritchie Smith Associates was the prime consultant for project implementation after preparing the Riverbluff Walkway Master Plan in collaboration with city officials, downtown residents, real estate developers, and citizen groups. The urban greenway includes planting, lighting, a pedestrian / bicycle bridge over Beale Street, scenic overlooks, and refurbishment of Vance Park and Butler Park. The long-range vision is to link to existing points of interest in West Tennessee as part of a multi-state heritage corridor for the entire Mississippi River Valley.
